What Makes Me Different?

I provide education, exercise, and mentorship to people who have tried everything and can’t get what they need from the fitness or healthcare industries. What does that mean? That means I am helping anyone who wants to live a life without compromise and say “yes” without hesitations due to fear or pain. What is a life without compromise? That’s up to you. It could be surfing, playing with your kids, or being able to sit in the car for hours without pain or discomfort on your way to a destination. I meet you where you are and compel you to believe in yourself, consistently, every step of the way. I not only help you reclaim your active life, but I also instill in you self-confidence and competence along the way.

They found themselves doing less and living smaller lives because these issues kept them living at a limited capacity whether it was everyday activities like household chores or going up and down stairs becoming a significant challenge, forgoing hobbies, time with family or friends, or other activities they loved like running, hiking, or gardening. In many cases, I saw people become fearful of movement and lose so much confidence in their body’s ability to handle everyday life, not to mention exercise. They were losing their resolve, independence and enjoyment of life.

I decided I didn’t want people to live in the discouragement, fear and uncertainty that often come with physical pain and movement limitations, whether they consider themselves an active person or someone who wants to become more active. I wanted to become the fitness professional that could solve these higher level problems, to bridge the gap between healthcare and fitness, a gap in which too many people find themselves, which is why I’m becoming an Active Life Professional.

I now work with clients through my home-based coaching business, guiding and supporting them through the lifestyle changes, movement practices, and building habits that help resolve chronic pain and uplevel their quality of life. I also help people successfully transition from physical therapy back to regular exercise, sport, and activities they love.

I’m here to help you eliminate the barriers to pain-free movement so you feel strong & confident in your body and have more physical freedom to enjoy your life, for as long as possible!

About Me

Hi, I’m Rosemary. I help people who are living with pain and physical limitations achieve pain-free movement and reclaim their body confidence and physical freedom so they can live an active life, without compromise.

I’m a NASM Certified Personal Trainer, ADAPT Certified Functional Health Coach through the Kresser Institute, and an Active Life Professional Candidate. Additionally, I have a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and have worked with hundreds of clients since entering the profession in 2003.

Over the years, I’ve primarily worked with people 1-1 in private clubs, boutique fitness studios and micro gyms. I’ve encountered an overwhelming number of people dealing with chronic aches and pain, recurring injuries, and who needed to modify movements indefinitely while never getting the appropriate help to address why this was the case or being faced with their doctor telling them surgery was their only option.

My Journey

I have personally experienced and overcome chronic shoulder and nerve-related pain from a car accident decades ago and, later, another shoulder injury that caused overwhelming disruption to my life.

It was not only deeply frustrating and interfering with my active life and workouts - having to modify and avoid certain movements altogether, being unable to make progress in building strength, and enjoying activities I love like stand-up paddleboarding - but it was disrupting my sleep, decreasing my ability to handle stress, and negatively impacting my mental health.

I also dealt with the fear that the pain would never go away and that I’d have to increasingly say ‘no’ to people and things that were important to me because of the way I felt and the things my body couldn’t tolerate.

Over the course of a couple of years, I changed how I moved and exercised, and incorporated acupuncture and a specific type of myofascial release, and leaned hard on my community which all allowed my shoulder pain to resolve and function to be fully restored.

This personal journey gave me the empathy and impetus to help other people navigating similar struggles refuse to compromise on the life they wanted, commit to taking ownership of their health, and give themselves their best shot at aging with empowerment, agency and fulfillment.
